Stockholms stads innovationsstipendium 2009

The Stockholm Innovation Prize 2009 was handed out today at Stockholm City Hall. Seven prizes were handed out to sixteen winners, and I am proud to say that I was awarded one of the seven prizes. The motivation reads as follows:

"Michael Gustafsson crushes rock in a new and interesting way. Through an unconventional method he introduces tension inside rock and ore to lessen the compression resistance of the material. Thereby the effectivity and productivity in the crushing and separation process can be increased to a great degree. The goal is to reduce energy consumtion in the communition process by 30-50%."

The project is ongoing, so further info will come later.
