Stockholms stads innovationsstipendium 2011
The Stockholm Innovation Prize 2011 was handed out this past Friday, November 25, at Stockholm City Hall. Chosen from 161 applications, six prizes were handed out to nine winners, and I am proud to say that Anders Marklund and I were awarded one of the six prizes. The motivation reads as follows:
"Michael Gustafsson and Anders Marklund are awarded a stipendium of 75 000 SEK for Agile Reading System, which makes it easier to read on small screens such as Iphone. With this system it is possible to enlarge the text and at the same time keep overview and coherence."
"Michael Gustafsson och Anders Marklund tilldelas ett stipendium på 75 000 kronor för Agile Reading System, som gör det lättare att läsa text på små skärmar som exempelvis Iphone. Med detta system kan man förstora texten och samtidigt behålla överblick och sammanhang."

This is the second time I am awarded the Stockholm Innovation Prize - the first time was in 2009, that project is making progress, although I believe this project will move faster. Mobile technology is a faster mover than mining technology.

Worksafe Weld 20 in Procurator Magazine
The latest issue of Procurator Magazine features an interview with me and Kalevi Tiurinen of KITAB. Kalevi has been involved from the very start of this project, testing prototypes, giving feedback and now using the finished product.

Worksafe Weld 20 - Worksafe Svejsemanchet in Teknovation Magazine
In the latest number of Teknovation magazine (nr 10-2011), there is a short article about Worksafe Svejsemanchet shown by Procurator at HI[11]: http://teknovation.dk/bladetonline/01/#/24/
From their homepage http://teknovation.dk/default.asp?id=10008 :
"Teknovation is the leading trade magazine when you want to reach the Danish metalworking industry as well as the Danish plastics industry."
NoFall Jumpharness inauguration in Vättlehallen, Lerum
Monday the 29th of August, the third NoFall Jumpharness was inaugurated in Vättlehallen. Lerums Konståkningsklubb is a very active and ambitious skating club, and they have successfully petitioned Lerum Municipality to install a modern jumpharness system in order to improve the training possibilities for their skaters.
Conferencier Kristoffer Berntsson - Swedish and Nordic figure skating champion - started off the show with a number, followed by trainer Thomas Öberg with skaters Sabina and Mattias, interviews with Lerums leading politician Anna-Lena Holberg (who was pleased with being able to support firgure skating), fritidsintendent Bo Backman (who had pulled the through the project), Swedish Figure Skating Association chairman Maria Meyer-Martins (who supports their members to get a NoFall in every city), LeKK chairman Helena Rosén Andersson (who is already planning for a new ice rink) and trainer Thomas Öberg (who looks forward to train his protegées with more difficult jumps). We were also treated to numbers by both very junior skaters as well as established figure skaters from LeKK.

"Svejsemanchetten er blevet kåret som verdensnyhed!" - "The welding cuff has been dubbed World News!"
hi[11] is a major industry expo with 600 exhibitors held in Denmark. Before the expo commences, exhibiting companies nominate their new products to a panel of industrial experts who then choose their "hi MARKS", products that qualify as Danish News or World News.
Today I learned from Procurator that the Worksafe Weld 20 recieved the "Verdensnyhed" (World News) status:
Many thanks to Tibbe, who submitted the Svejsemanchett to hi MARKS and to Else Duelund Kristiansen, for sharing the news (both of Procurator Denmark).
Here is a link to all the chosen products - good company, indeed:
